Dr. Scott Agster is a low brass specialist, composer and arranger based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Dr. Agster has performed all over the world with such distinguished groups as the Doc Severinsen Orchestra, UNT One O’Clock Lab Band, Davina and the Vagabonds, Nooky Jones, Salsa del Soul, and Jack Brass Band. For eight years, Dr. Agster held the position of Assistant Ensemble Department Head at McNally Smith College of Music. Currently, Agster is on faculty at Anoka Ramsey Community College as the Adjunct Professor of Low Brass. Dr. Agster earned his D.M.A. in Trombone Performance from the University of Minnesota. He also holds an M.M. in Trombone Performance and a B.M. in Music Education from the University of North Texas. Pete Whitman is a saxophonist, flutist, clarinetist, composer, arranger and educator based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. He has performed with such distinguished groups as Minnesota Orchestra, Jack McDuff, Curtis Fuller, the Woody the Herman Orchestra and the Jazz MN Big Band. For twenty years, Whitman served as the Brass and Woodwinds Department Head at McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN. Currently, Whitman is on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN teaching saxophone and improvisation. Whitman has also recorded extensively as a sideman and has several recordings out under his name. Two of his most recent recording projects include Mississippi (Shifting Paradigm Records) and Changes We Can Believe In by the Pete Whitman/Chris Olson Quintet (Bandcamp).
